The record: 105 companies, 420 reasons, and what we will not say yet

Everything below is counted, at the moment this page was written, from the corpus and our own store. No number here is estimated, and where a number cannot yet be computed it says so rather than being approximated.

what has been read

105 companies. 420 reasons derived from their filings, and every one of them carries the sentence from the filing it rests on, stored and checkable.

how often nothing happens

13 reasons have been tested by a later filing, and every one of them moved. Not one filing so far has left a reason exactly as it was — which is unusual, and worth saying plainly rather than smoothing over. We write to a reader either way.

how often we refuse ourselves

4 composed pieces were refused before publication — a quotation that did not match the filing, a number with no claim behind it, or a count that disagreed with what the page rendered. That gate has no override and nobody in the loop. 6 pieces have been published.

how many reasons survive a year

We cannot answer this yet. The oldest reading in the corpus is 23 days old, and a reason has to be under watch for a year before anyone can say whether it survived one. Annualising a few weeks would be exactly the thing this page exists to not do. The question stays here, open, until the data closes it.

These numbers move. This page is rewritten from the same counts each time it is published, and an older copy is a photograph of an older corpus rather than a claim that has changed.
